Students at Eyemouth High School raised an unprecedented £2250 for Children in Need through their X-Factor event. Students ere enthralled by a mixture of comedy, singing, bands, and a staff pantomime. Special congratulations go to Natasha Blackmore, and Raymond McRobbie, who won the competition!
Building on the new Eyemouth High school has now begun. Progress is being made at a rapid rate. Students, staff and the local community are being urged to work together to plan for the new building in order to make it truly a community school.
Safety in the Park, a whole day of interactive displays and presentations organised by SBC about personal safety and wellbeing, was attended by 40 of Eyemouth’s 5th year students. Rumour has it that a whole number of these students were subsequently seen speeding about the area in a minibus, talking to anyone they knew about living in the town. It is also said that their work may result in a website – watch this space!
Every primary school council, along with the two High school pupil councils, received a boost at the beginning of this academic year with training organised by Schools Council UK. The event, which was based at the High school, involved 60 students. Later this year, each council will review the progress that has been made!
